Alein Haro-Ramos, PhD, MPH
Dr. Haro-Ramos is a population health scientist and health policy researcher at the University of California, Irvine, and much of her work examines how race, ethnicity, and citizenship intersect to shape health across the life course. She focuses on structural determinants of health inequities among racialized and low-income communities in the United States, particularly Latino and immigrant populations. Her research spans topics including safety-net health care access, immigration policy, and labor conditions. Dr. Haro-Ramos is part of CHBRP's Public Health Impact team.
She is especially interested in how immigration status and exclusionary policies affect health outcomes and access to preventive care. The goal of her work is to inform policy and practice interventions that mitigate health disparities and promote equity in care delivery and population health.
Dr. Haro-Ramos received her PhD in Health Policy - Population Health Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Masters in Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles.
