Alec Sarkissian is a junior at the University of California, Berkeley, studying Political Science with a minor in Public Policy. Prior to transferring to UC Berkeley, Alec served as a Legislative & Communications Associate with the Association of California Life and Health Insurance Companies (ACLHIC), where he worked on legislative priorities affecting many of the state’s leading health and life insurance plans. He also has experience in the nonprofit sector, where he worked on environmental policy issues, as well as advising local and federal political campaigns. At CHBRP, Alec is particularly excited to strengthen his technical skills and understanding of the health insurance world. He hopes to apply the knowledge and experience he gains at CHBRP to become a more informed advocate for thoughtful, effective health insurance policy in the California Legislature. Outside of work and school, Alec enjoys working out, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new restaurants around Berkeley.
